Specifications

This is the 1996 (built) Nordberg C1007 (sold new in Japan 1999) semi mobile impactor where you feed in sizes of up to 500mm diameter and get 0<40mm (finely adjustable up or down to larger or smaller sizing 30mm-65mm) off the discharge belt at up to 105 tonnes per hour and you can be doing it within 20 minutes of arrival on site. Makes brilliant M4!

Like it or not, impactors are here to stay in New Zealand, just as they are in most other developed nations. We see now that high specification aggregate for most major projects is being final processed with impactors, often in one pass with no primary. The reality is you can no longer compete against them in price or especially quality. The reality is you have to consider joining them to be competitive in NZ today.

There were some horror stories initially and many decided they'd never have an impactor when they heard them. There were all sorts of reasons for the stories, Komatsu asphalt recyclers were used for rock and failed, a couple were manufactured locally and failed. We were not immune ourselves with the two 10/07 impactors we imported, one of which is this one. Wear was horrific, using standard off the shelf Metso hammers we experienced full sets wearing out at only 3000 tonnes of production. We experimented with locally cast alloys in the hammers and increased the average production per set up to 10,000 tonnes and thought that was pretty good and made the machines much more economical and competitive.

Now though, we have just tested a new hammer brew in the upper reaches of the Wanganui river (Jerusalem) and the results are astounding.  Last season in the exact same site the C1007 processed 30,000tonnes of 30mm from natural river stone without scalping. Wear was atrocious at average 3000 tonnes/ hammer set but we put it down to the moist sand content in the feed. This season we crushed the same amount, of the same unscalped stone, and wore out only one side of one set of hammers! This equates to an expected hammer set life of 66,000 tonnes in normal going. We'll say 50,000 tonnes to be safe. There is no longer any excuse to not consider using an impactor if it will suit your stone. If you're in business to make money that is.

This C1007 has done two years in Jerusalem and we have not needed to visit it once except for scheduled servicing. The hirers (the Ngati Hau Trust) were not expert crushermen by any means but they are now.  They were not good fitters either and still aren't. Its record speaks for itself as a brilliant all round and supremely economic crusher. It will not cost you anywhere near the million $ + any other Nordberg/Metso impactor will set you back but you will still get the same result and be able to compete with anyone in the business. We can even supply it on tracks. get after it now!
